No problem with this, provided we sell Arnautovic for £300mn

Pelle won't be happy, but like Benitez at the Geordies on high contract will not resign on £10m per year. Five more years at least of mediocre investment and mid table before the 2bobs sell up.

Weren't there similar claims about our summer spending this time last year?

Re: Appearantly the transfer budget in the summer will be 25 million plus whatever we can get from sales
I would imagine that we have spent way too much and have a stupid wage bill for the standard of football we are playing. Expect to see a few departures this summer, some money freed up and hopefully some shrewd signings.
I think there is money for the right signing if they came along.

totally believe the reports, the cheapskate cunts will never change long term. they'll save bundles too on wages if the strikers move on, it will always be smoke and mirrors with that pair of useless wankers

Re: Appearantly the transfer budget in the summer will be 25 million plus whatever we can get from sales
If I were an owner who spent 100 large last summer and still saw a shit team most weeks, I wouldn't be throwing another load at it.

If the 25 figure is true, we could still have a chuck to spend as there are going to be a lot of departures and maybe saving 2 mil a month on wages.

Re: Appearantly the transfer budget in the summer will be 25 million plus whatever we can get from sales
The way I see this summer is (try) to get rid of Chicarito, Arnie, Carroll, Perez, Wilshire, Obiang, Sanchez Masuaku, Reid, Oxford, and anyone else not deemed good enough. Then get back fit Yarmalenko, then 3 or 4 strong first choice additions and feel we would be in good shape.

Re: Appearantly the transfer budget in the summer will be 25 million plus whatever we can get from sales
Yeah we should out quite a few. There was talk of Reid retiring and Wilshire won't get another game this season we could out him on a free, but who would be mug enough to pay his wages when he cant play more than 3 games without a long term injury .....oh hang on

Re: Appearantly the transfer budget in the summer will be 25 million plus whatever we can get from sales
I doubt £25m is true, prob more like £35m to £40m which seems to be the boards lowest spend to ensure survival.

Neither figure will touch the sides or replace all those due to leave.

Without new ownership we are stuck in the same cycle.

Re: Appearantly the transfer budget in the summer will be 25 million plus whatever we can get from sales
In the meantime our glorious owners will make another tidy profit and move another year closer to being able to sell and not give a penny to the LDDC or whatever they are called.

Re: Appearantly the transfer budget in the summer will be 25 million plus whatever we can get from sales
The squad isn’t the problem, you can only have 11 players on the pitch at any one time, we ain’t top 6 materiel and unless we spend £200m every year won’t be for some time.
The manager failing to motivate the squad we have is out downfall, it’s no longer a blip to lose to the shit house teams the way we do, it’s now a major concern and happening far too frequently to ignore.
£25m plus sales is all I’d trust the old bluffer with as well.

Re: Appearantly the transfer budget in the summer will be 25 million plus whatever we can get from sales
from the lot wet realistically sell it's hardly a fortune

arnie 25m
Perez 5m
hernandez 10m
obiang 7m
Sanchez 5m
massouaku 5m

that's assuming we don't sell rice which wouldn't be shocked at if we did

Re: Appearantly the transfer budget in the summer will be 25 million plus whatever we can get from sales
Before spending money the Manager needs to show he can get the best out of the players he has. The last 6 odd away games are as bad as I have seen under any Manager.

Since the Wimbledon game he has lost the plot a bit. If we finish below 50 points, I think this will be a disappointing season.

Re: Appearantly the transfer budget in the summer will be 25 million plus whatever we can get from sales
A poor recent trait I've noticed is when we go down 1-0 to an inferior side that should act as a big wake up call to sort it out (as you see in most other matches) but with us it still looks more likely than it will go 2-0 instead of 1-1..we have lost quite a few recent games 2-0 3-0 Something is fundamentally wrong.

Re: Appearantly the transfer budget in the summer will be 25 million plus whatever we can get from sales
V

talking complete bollocks as usual, what profits in the transfer market have Man City, Liverpool, Man Utd made recently?

Why are sp*rs going backwards now? Because they haven't spent enough, why aren't Arsenal dominating near the top of the table and fallen out the CL? Because they haven't spent enough. The only reason Chelsea make a profit is their manipulation of the loan market, which FIFA are stopping.

Re: Appearantly the transfer budget in the summer will be 25 million plus whatever we can get from sales
Anotherday

We feel we will be in good shape getting rid of that lot and getting in 3 or 4?

You basically listed all our strikers to go! The 3 or 4 will only cover them. At huge expense. Let alone the rest of the holes in the squad

Re: Appearantly the transfer budget in the summer will be 25 million plus whatever we can get from sales
I think Arnie and Pea will be sold in the summer...that might bring in £50Million

Carroll is off and Perez staying is questionable.

There were a few signings last summer which were expensive in wage terms and were not really needed...

Perez,Sanchez,Wilshere are superfluous but must be averaging 70-80k a week which is a poor return whichever way you look at it.

We still need another defensive midfielder and a left-back - and not punts or stopgaps...they need to be half decent
